Northstar Lake Tahoe. Snowboardweek

How to get there:
Lake Tahoe is round about 3 1/2 hour away from the bay area.
To get there, you take the way over the Bay bridge and drive up the 80 over Sacramento (the Capital) up to Truckee by Reno.

About the Village resort:
The Northstar Resort is a little Skivillage with a lot of Cabins, Apartments and the Rizz Hotel. You have the Nortstar Ski area with a gondola driving up directly from the village up. There are 20 lifts that you can take if there are good snowconditions. This time the nature conditions where not the best ones, but at least we had like 7 lifts open. The Snow was good but a bit icy. All in all we had a lot of sun and beautiful weather.
The village is a really nice little place. You have an Iceskating ring in the middle, some places to get Hotdogs, Waffles or Crepes. There are a lot of Skishops and rental places and Bars. The Tavern is one of the bars/Restaurant, so are there some Sushi places and Sportsbars.
For the ones who want to learn how to Snowboard or how to Ski, there are a lot of Academys or Ski schools. The Burton Snowboardschool gives all day long camps and the Staff and the people working there are doing a good job.

Well unfortunately its not in the same Price Categorie like you might know it from other Ski Resorts.
A day Ticket costs you 100 $ and the rental for Snowboard and Shoes for 4 days round about 230. So you really should take a look if you are ready to pay that for a Skii weekend.
But Tahoe is an awesome place in California to go skiing and if you really want to go you should go here instead of spending a lot of money for a plane ticket to fly to another place in the states.
